Egypt has evacuated 43 of its citizens from Afghanistan after the Taliban’s take over of the country.
The development was announced by the state-run media, MENA news agency. It said a military plane from Kabul carrying the citizens landed in Cairo.
The flight brought home 43 evacuees, including the Egyptian embassy staff and clerics from the Al-Azhar, the Sunni Muslim world’s foremost religious institution.
