Victor Osimhen Wins Emerging Player of the Year at the Global Soccer Awards

Napoli football star Victor Osimhen wins big at the 2022 Global Soccer Awards. He has been named the maiden winner of the Power House Emerging Player of the year. The Awards took place at the Madinat Jumeirah Resort in Dubai, UAE on Thursday.

The 23-year-old Super Eagles forward became the first Nigerian to win a Globe Soccer Award. 

Osimhen was nominated in the category alongside Bukayo Saka of Arsenal, Barcelona’s rising stars–the duo of Gavi and Pedri, Real Madrid sensation, Fede Valverde, and 14 others at the 12th edition of the annual awards ceremony of the prestigious award.

The finalists in the category were Osimhen, Gavi, and Valverde where Osimhen became the ultimate winner.

The organisers of the awards, Globe Soccer congratulated Osimhen for his latest achievement via their official Twitter page.

“Congratulations to Victor Osimhen on winning the 2022 ⁣#GlobeSoccer Award for ⁣POWER HORSE EMERGING PLAYER OF THE YEAR,” the tweet read.

Recall that Osimhen won his first hat-trick for Napoli a few weeks ago where he made history as the first Nigerian footballer to score a hat-trick in an Italian Serie A league.
