Nigerian Striker, Paul Onuachu Bags Best Player, Highest Goalscorer in Belgium Pro League

Talented Nigerian forward, Paul Onuachu who plies his trade with KRC Genk has been awarded the best player and highest goalscorer of the Pro League 2020/21.

He received his award on Monday evening in Brussels.

Also on its website, the league wrote, “Paul Onuachu can call himself the Professional Footballer of the Jupiler Pro League for a year.”

“The KRC Genk striker was voted as the best player of the past season by his colleagues. Onuachu scored 33 times last season, making him the player with the most goals behind his name.”

Onuachu had a scintillating season as he helped his team to the second position.

His impressive dribbling skills and ball control have also marked him out for excellence and has used his height to a devastating effect, scoring a number of goals with his head. He scored 35 goals in 41 games overall.

Onuachu is also in contention for the Ebony Shoe Award for the Best Player of African descent in the league where he will battle Congolese-born Belgian striker, Theo Batombo Bonganda; Angola’s Club Brugge defender, Clinton Mata; Anderlecht’s Anglo-Nigerian forward, Lukas Nmecha and Congolese-born Belgian star, Sambi Lokonga, who features for Anderlecht.
