Nigerian singer and songwriter Tems has received a gold certification plaque for her single ‘Free Mind’ to indicate the song has sold over 500,000 units in the United States.
On Wednesday, October 26, pop culture account @chartdata shared via their Twitter account, the track is eligible for a Gold Certification as it has sold 500,000 copies in the United States. The certification will be Tems’ first solo certification after getting platinum plaques for Wizkid’s “Essence” and Future’s “Wait For U.” Today, Tem’s manager Muyiwa Awoniyi shared pictures of her receiving the Gold certification plaque.
Tems joins the likes of Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido and CKay as afrobeats artist with solo RIAA certifications.
