Drake Loses £500,000 Bet After Madrid Defeated Barcelona

Pop artiste Drake has lost a £500,000 wager he placed on Barcelona following the Spanish club’s loss to league rivals Real Madrid.

Drake caught the internet by storm on Sunday after he posted on his verified Instagram page the huge lump he placed on popular betting platform Stake.

He captioned the bet, which was staked in Canadian Dollars: “This morning should be fun… #OVOBarca #COYG @stake.”

He was in line to win nearly £2.5 million ($2.8 million) if his wager had come good.

He also bet Arsenal to win at Leeds, which they did 1-0 in an edgy encounter.

Bukayo Saka’s first-half goal gave them the much-desired points they needed to extend their lead at the top of the table.

However, their victory was not enough to save Drake’s bet, as a matter of minutes later, Barcelona’s defeat was confirmed.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men raced ahead in the encounter after a two-goal lead through Ballon d’Or favourite Karim Benzema and midfielder Fede Valverde.

Ferran Torres pulled a goal back for Barcelona, but Rodrygo’s late penalty ensured that the hosts took all three points.
